Elvis Costello Performs Benefit Concert in San Francisco

Elvis Costello, who habitually surrounds himself with seasoned musicians is headlining at  Preservation Hall Jazz Band's new West Coast venue -   The Chapel, 777 Valencia Street in San Francisco on Saturday October 6th in aid of the 6th Annual Richard de Lone Special Housing Project.

(The Richard de Lone Special Housing Project is a non profit charity with the mission of creating a state-of-the-art residential center in the San Francisco Bay Area for adults and children with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare and random genetic disorder, which Richard has).

 If you inspect the poster with a magnifying glass, you will see the 'Special Guests': Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, Bill Kirchen, and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will be on the bill.

 Why am I plugging this interesting sounding benefit concert on the other side of the pond? Because Richard de Lone is my nephew and Austin de Lone, the veteran musician who is putting the show on is my brother-in-law, that's why.

Also, my sister Lesley is the President of the RDSHP! And my talented chanteuse niece Caroline de Lone, who has known Elvis since she was a baby will undoubtedly make a guest appearance too.

Admittedly this plug stinks of Nepotism, but the concert is definitely worth going to if you are in that neck of the woods on (I repeat) Saturday October 6th.

I see Victor Olliver, my Fave Rave Astrologist, who has a Horoscope column in the The Lady, besides being the resident astrologist on the global Peter Ross Show on Apple FM, and The Astrology Show has now put a horoscope podcast for all astrological sun signs on his Victor Olliver Astrology site.

 Not only is this enlightening audio in-depth horoscope free, but it is also frighteningly accurate.

It's not only traditional publishing which is in the doldrums - for instance well-known writers like Monty Python's Terry Jones get funding for their books on sites like Wired, it seems that the Establishment's Music Business is in the doldrums too.

 One of my Fave Rave established musicians has got to be Johnny "V" Vernazza, the legendary slide and lead guitarist who has worked with the best producers in the Business; and  played guitar with many Blues greats like Steve Miller, Chicago guitarist Luther Tucker, Sunnyland Slim, Rock& Roll Legend Chuck Berry, George Thorogood, Greg Allman, Charlie Daniels, Commander Cody and  the Lost Planet Airmen and Elvin Bishop to name just a few.

Although Johnny has worked with the Music Industry's Major labels, he now has a Kickstarter page set up for the funding of his next CD Lions and Thieves.

The fascinating promo about Vernazza is self-explanatory and if one wishes to become an executive producer, all one has to do is donate!
